This is one of my favorite enrichment toys, because it is so versatile for small dogs of varying nose size and experience level. The larger openings make it easy for dogs with longer noses (like Dachshunds) to burrow their nose in safely, yet also great for your shorter nosed breeds (like Shih Tzus) that can't get too far into the "treat pouch". Because the opening is wider, shorter nosed dogs are able to push into the sides of it and find the treats easily.
Sometimes, enrichment toys can be difficult for dogs that have one specific nose size- the longer nosed dogs find smaller openings and shorter "treat pouch" areas difficult, whereas shorter noses dogs can get overly frustrated with longer "treat pouch" areas and actually be unsafe at times if they keep trying to get the buried treats.
This is not a problem with the "Boo" enrichment toy. It's also easy to make it incrementally more difficult for dogs by beginning with having the treats more exposed and then burying them deeper and deeper as they gain more confidence.
I love how well made this toy is- from 100% non toxic materials. It also has three squeakers which makes it a fun toy for the dogs to play with even without treats. As a regular toy, it's slightly on the larger side for our super petite friends (under 5 pounds) but still very manageable as an enrichment for for ANY size of small dog as while they are using it as an enrichment toy they don't have to carry it around.
